Guru
Director: Mani Ratnam
Cast: Gurukant Desai (Abhishek Bachchan), Sujatha (Aishwarya Rai), Nanaji (Mithun Chakraborty), Shyam Saxena (R Madhvan), Meenakshi/Meenu (Vidya Balan)

Guru unfolds with the story of an uncomplicated youthful villager, who has the bravado to fly elevated and the dream to mature. Grow bigger than life itself. Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya in the lead role here.

Abhishek Bachchan as Gurukanth Desai is the child of a firm school headmaster. Guru fails in his school parting examination, but finds himself an occupation in Turkey. Parting back a dissatisfied father, Guru takes up an employment in a petroleum company in Turkey as a delivery boy. He is an enthusiastic spectator and a speedy apprentice and is soon endorsed as a sales administrator. However he give up his job and returns to the motherland fostering the dream of opening his own venture.

An inexperienced villager fuelled by aspiration and thoughts Guru builds a commercial realm, the first of its kind in sovereign India. But in the chase of his dreams his personality goes through a conversion. His exceptional habits of doing business are often inquiry by the media magnate Manickam Rajagopal whom Guru lovingly calls 'nanaji.'

Court enquiries were prepared, probe panel was setup and charges were framed. The film reaches its pinnacle, when Guru has to protect himself before an administration board and he delivers magnificent, stimulating speech. What verdict comes is a different story but one object which holds is that when dreams are involved with hard work, obsession and blessings are countless, the wars can be lost but the fight is always won!

The film is anchored by Abhishek Bachchan's notable presentation. Aishwarya Rai has dexterously displayed the 'strong wife' personality. Vidya Balan, however, does not get the dais to utilize her dexterity. It is a genuine delight seeing Mithun Chakraborty back on screen in the role of Manickam and he represents the character with self-confidence. While the music is very A R Rahman - foot-tapping and melodious, the lyrics confirm that they're the effort of an artistic mind, Gulzaar.

Pleasurable with the accurate doses of romance 'Guru', is value a watch.
